About DYFR Records

When a few of The Hague underground labels wanted to bring out Baz Reznik his tracks he soon got frustrated about the politics behind it. Being an impatient guy who thinks he can do anything himself, he decided to start his own label. Bringing out only the music he likes the way he likes. No politics, no hidden agenda and a heads on mentality. Of course the release had to be on vinyl: if it's no vinyl release it's no release at all.

Totally ignorant about how to do it he started to investigate. Everybody told him that digital releases are the future but he didn't care and was proven right. Although the DYFR releases are digitally available, the vinyl versions sell much better and are appreciated far beyond the borders of the Netherlands.
The raw but slow The Hague electro, acid and techno sounds and the mastering done by electro pioneer Rude66 or Baz Reznik himself, made DYFR exactly what it was meant to be:

DYFR: Do it Yourself, Fuck the Rest!

DYFR-005 Scream From The Shore

The first album on DYFR records is a 15 track record by Baz Reznik with a pumping remix of his former release "Up" by Louis Guilliaume. A diverse album with jackin ghetto style acid, techno beach anthems, underground house, electro with disco influences and slow beat electronics. This is what you get when you live in a diverse coastal city.

This Scream From the Shore album by Baz Reznik is also the first DYFR digital release. It is available through Bandcamp (full quality).

It is possible to make a donation as well. All donations will be saved and if all goes well and enough is donated we will make a vinyl version of this album (with a free album for those who donated above 15€ and discount for all donators). If it turns out that it will not be enough for an album we'll try to put at least a single out of a few of the tracks.

Those who want the long versions of the tracks can go to Juno.

DYFR-004 Special Edition 1

Two tracks by Baz Reznik this time. The opening track "The Attic" is a deep Detroit style track with moody live played synths and drums. It got good remarks from I-F and Legowelt in the last IFM competition where it was entered under the working title: "Let the Snow Fall".

The "Stopera" track is the first of a series of "Guerilla tracks" which were composed in unusual places like basements, airports, beaches and park benches. With its mean jackin acid line and funky rhythm it is destined to move some feet. Think Berlin underground meets Chicago somewhere in Scheveningen!

This single sided Special Edition is featured on the new Fabric mix cd mixed by Dave Clarke and will be limited to 100 pressings.

DYFR-003 High Low Techo EP

With the release of the High Low Techo ep, DYFR records goes back to the past. In the mid 90ties the HLT organisation threw parties in the north of the Netherlands.

One of the HLT guys: MZR (later also known as one of the Plonk Brothers) made a cd full of tracks. This cd was lost but was found again in the archieves of Baz Reznik during a moving.

Lots of effort has been made to restore the damaged cd and two tracks could be saved. With new mastering by Rude66 these '97 rave / acid tracks will bang the dancefloor once more!

The flip side contains a raw filter acid track by Baz Reznik that was well received on the dancefloors last spring.

Already approved by Laurent Garnier!

Available through Rushour - Amsterdam, Kompakt - Cologne, Transvision - Alkmaar, De Waaghals - Nijmegen.

Or mail: DYFRrecords [at] gmail [dot] com (price: 10,- and we'll work out a way to ship as cheap as possible. Ordering DYFR001 and 002 together will give you a 10% discount on both!). If you want to be informed when the next one hits the road, join us on Facebook.

DYFR-002 Spank the Butler EP

The second release on DYFR records label contains three tracks by Spank the Butler and a bonus cd with two remixes by Patrique and Baz Reznik.

Three deep electronic music productions from the Dutch based producers of “Spank the Butler”.

The first track “Sonic Ray” brings you a funky baseline after the long and epic two minute synthesizer intro.

“The Lost World” is a dark track with a phat 808 baseline and screaming sounds. With “Bits & Bubbles” a subtle and organic techno track, not unlike Omar S, is delivered.

The limited cd that comes with the record is to help those who are confronted with broken needles on ill-maintained turntables in clubs and contains two remixes of “The Lost World”. Beware that the ones with cd will be limited and for now will be sold through this site only!

All this is mastered by nations favorite electro pioneer Rude 66.

Order: DYFRrecords [at] gmail [dot] com (price: 10,-. Ordering DYFR001 and 002 together will give you a 10% discount on both!). If you want to be informed when the next one hits the road, join us on Facebook.

DYFR-001 Out of your Head EP

The first release on DYFR records label contains four tracks composed by Baz Reznik.

Radiostar is a slamming acid / electro track with lyrics protesting agains the star culture kept up by various radiostations. A good track to be on the first DYFR (Do it Yourself, Fuck the Rest) pressing. With a phat 808 bassline and 303 like synth-lines this track is bound to blow you away.

Stalking is a techno orientated track with a heavy acid-line which supports the dark lyrics.
The first and last track of the record: The Beginning and Haunting, are instrumental tracks which complete the EP.

As there are only 150 in stock, with the first 100 containing a free poster, be sure to grab one!

Four other tracks of Baz Reznik are released on SD records.
